Recreation Services looks forward to welcoming our community back into our facilities. As the Province moves from Phase 1 to Phase 2 of BC's Restart Plan, we are looking at ways we can re-open some of our programs and services over the coming months. The health and safety of our participants, staff and community are paramount. We will follow the guidelines as set by the Provincial Health Officer and WorkSafe BC.

As we move forward, we need to hear from you as we adjust to the new normal, to make sure we have addressed any concerns.

As the Province moves from Phase 1 to Phase 2 of BC's Restart Plan, we are looking at ways to provide summer camps while ensuring the health and safety of our participants, staff and community. We will follow the guidelines as set by the Provincial Health Officer and WorkSafe BC.

As we move forward, we need to hear from you - the families that have taken part or planned to take part in our awesome summer camps. We are working to adjust our camps to meet current COVID-19 precautionary guidelines, while we also ensure that we provide a fun and safe experience for all. Please take a few minutes to complete this quick survey. Your responses will help us provide high quality camps that meet the needs of our community.

Under the new guidelines our camps WILL:

    • Not exceed 50 people within a facility space, and as much as possible, maintain reasonable physical distancing
    • Have less participants and a higher staff to child ratio (1 staff to 6 participants)
    • Be held outdoors as much as possible with access to an indoor space with physical distancing measures in place
    • Where feasible, will provide dedicated supplies/equipment to each participant to use during camp
    • Have increased cleaning of touch points and shared equipment
    • Require a daily health questionnaire for participants, their household, and our staff
    • Follow all guidelines set by the Provincial Health Officer

Under these new guidelines our camps WILL NOT:

    • Be open to those who have symptoms of a cold, flu, COVID-19, with any coughing or sneezing. (refund/credit provided)
    • Be open to those that require to self-isolate after travel
    • Include swimming in the Aquatic Centre
