The number of short-term rental (STR) accommodations is on the rise, and the City of Vernon is seeking input on short-term rental regulations. Public and stakeholder engagement will help to inform the development of short-term rental regulations in Vernon. The survey is now closed and we will post what we have heard shortly.
The planning process was approved by Council in 2019, and is now undergoing the public engagement process. Currently, there are no regulations for short-term rentals in Vernon, which are defined as a home, or a room in a home, that is rented for less than 30 days at a time.
Once the regulation recommendations are drafted, there will be additional opportunities for public review and input.
