We are developing a design for a new park in the City Centre and would like your input!
The park is located on 39th Avenue, behind the Visitor Information Centre where the former Civic Arena was located. It is surrounded by houses, apartments, and businesses and will serve as a destination for the surrounding neighbourhood.
This new park will be a transportation and activity hub. The Polson Greenway Multi-Use-Pathway (MUP) connects this new park to Polson Park, Spirit Square at City Hall and Kin Race Track Park, all within a short distance. Many of these parks are located within a short distance.
Pedestrian and cycling routes along 39 Avenue connect this new park to the Recreation Centre, Performing Arts Centre, Becker Park, and other neighbourhoods to the east and west. The Visitor Information Centre (VIC) is located at this park and will provide amenity and services to tourists.
The park is central to uptown and downtown for cyclists and pedestrians to get to other parks and leisure destinations as well as shopping and services throughout the City.
