Over the summer, Vernon introduced a pilot project to reduce waste going to landfill. Two organics collection bins were set up to trial diverting waste from the landfill. As we are moving into winter, Vernon is looking at different options for composting. Please take the quick survey to share your thoughts on composting.
The compost pilot project has wrapped up as on November 4, 2019 and the bins have been removed from City Hall and Schubert Center.
The survey is closed now and staff is analyzing results which will be used to determine phase 2 of the pilot.
