Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Vernon Budget! The results have been presented to Council for consideration. Based on the input that we received from Vernon residents that demonstrated that citizens valued improved City services, Council has decided to allow a small tax increase for operational expenses - a maximum of 1.9 per cent.

The online budget exercise lets participants indicate whether they would increase, decrease or maintain proposed budgets for key City services. The 2018 Vernon Budget survey is open from May 1 – 31, and the results will be presented to Council for their consideration prior to the Budget Workshop and Strategic Planning Review on June 9.
The City launched a new public participation website (www.vernon.ca/engage) on May 1 to encourage Vernon residents to provide input on key City projects and programs. This feedback will be considered by Vernon City Council as part of their decision-making process. Residents who want to stay informed about upcoming engagement activities and provide input for Council’s information can register on the site.

This feedback will be considered by Vernon City Council as part of their decision-making process. Engage Vernon can be found at www.vernon.ca/engage or www.engagevernon.ca. The site will feature current engagement opportunities as well as past and upcoming projects.
The first opportunity for residents to provide feedback is on the 2018 Vernon Budget, in which participants can indicate whether they would increase, decrease or maintain proposed budgets for key City services. The 2018 Vernon Budget survey is open from May 1 – 31, and the results will be presented to Council for their consideration prior to the Budget Workshop and Strategic Planning Review on June 9. Other City projects will be added to the site in the near future.
